On November 17th, the first Dongpo Forum opened in Meishan, Sichuanprovince.

The theme of the first Dongpo Forum was "Strengthening Cultural Confidence and Inheriting the Su FamilyCulture". At the forum, experts and scholars made keynote speeches on five aspects, namely, the Su Family (Su Xun, Su Dongpo and Su Zhe)ideas on state governanceand Chinese path to modernization, the era communication and social impact of Sufamily motto and education, Dongpo literature sorting and overseas communication, the historical origin and contemperaryvalue of Dongpo aesthetic spirit, and the innovative expression of Dongpo cultural relicsthrough themed tourism.

It is reported that Meishancityhas designated November as the "Dongpo Culture Month" and is currently accelerating the creation of a national first-class museum and a national historical and cultural city for the Su FamilyTemple. This forum will be used as an opportunity to transform and apply the research results, promote the protection and excavation of cultural heritage, and better integrate Dongpo Culture into the contemporary era and the masses.
